How has life changed in a year
No one could anticipate the challenges brought about by Covid and back in 2019 we had absolutely no idea what was in front of us.
With it being 2021, we are still in the middle of the pandemic and have so far lived through a whole long year of off and on lock downs. How has this been for you? Have you managed to grasp family life with both hands and be thankful for every single small thing of beauty that we experience or.. not?!
The past year should have made us all appreciate what we have and to be content with having enough. There is no need for more and more of everything. We should be grateful for the roof over our heads, our family members, health and happiness. Even the water from the tap and the food on the table. It might feel that we are merely existing and not living during this time.. but be positive.. at least we are still here and can tell the story.
For some, it has been a year of crafting and sour dough making whilst working from home. For others, it has been challenging juggling home schooling and keeping employment. For many parents who are front line workers with the NHS, we cannot start to imagine the emotional rollercoaster you have been on and continue to endure. We thank you. We are thankful to all of the key workers who collect the rubbish, stock our shelves, provide us with utilities and even to the taxi drivers who are now giving lifts to the elderly so that they can get their vaccine. We are also thankful to the early years educators in every nursery setting across Wales who have given so much time, effort, emotion and dedication to their roles during the past year. Without you, others would not be able to go to work but most importantly our little ones would not experience those crucial stages of development and socialising with friends that are so important to their formative years.
Therefore, to conclude.. yes, we may have learnt new skills of crafting or baking or even find extra time learn a new skill? But, I truly hope that we have all taken time to be grateful to those around us and to be thankful for all that we have. Now.. let us show all those important people around us how sincerely grateful we are for everything!
